Henry V, Yorkshire Shakespeare Project, York

21st October 2015 - 31st October 2015

Henry V by William Shakespeare
Presented by York Shakespeare Project

21st-31st October 2015 at Upstage Theatre, York, YO31 7PB.

York Shakespeare Project are proud to mark the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt with their all-female production of Henry V.

Let York Shakespeare Project take you back in time to World War One to watch the ‘Barnbow Lasses’ present Henry V.

Enter into the world of the munitions factory; smell the cordite, hear the noise, watch the women work and share in their enactment of Shakespeare’s most famous History play, Henry V, as they explore the meaning of war through Shakespeare’s own discourse. His play shows us Henry set in context of the full spectrum of class and rank and it is as much about the experiences of war for the people living through it as it is about those who wage it.

‘When the blast of war blows in our ears!’

Tickets available from York Theatre Royal Box Office. Evening and matinee performances available. Call the box office on 01904 623568 or visit www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
